Why it’s worth going

Finance and accounting offer many career paths—audit, tax, corporate finance, investment banking, government—and choosing the right direction requires self-awareness about your strengths and preferences. This session helps you clarify your interests and values before you commit to a specialization or accept a co-op placement. Understanding yourself early can prevent costly pivots later and help you target opportunities that truly fit.

Going in prepared

Come with an open mind and willingness to reflect on what motivates you and where you see yourself thriving. Think in advance about courses or experiences you’ve enjoyed or disliked, as these can provide clues about your preferences. Be ready to participate in group discussions and self-assessment activities, which work best when you engage honestly.
