Why it’s worth going

Finance and accounting students face choices between diverse career paths like public accounting, corporate finance, investment banking, and government roles, each requiring different strengths and interests. This self-assessment session helps you understand which paths align best with your personality, values, and skills before committing to a specialization or job search direction. The peer group format allows you to hear how other students are thinking through similar career decisions.

Going in prepared

Set aside the full 90 minutes for this session, as self-assessment activities build on each other throughout the session. Come with an open mind about exploring aspects of your interests and strengths you may not have considered before. Bring a notebook to record insights that emerge about your career preferences and decision-making priorities. If you’re already considering specific finance or accounting paths, think about what questions you want to explore about whether those paths truly fit you.
