📍 Sky Lounge, Ottawa, ON
🏢 Hosted by SIBA (Sprott International Business Association)
SIBA’s Rep Your Flag Event is a multi-day networking event hosted by the Sprott International Business Association at Carleton University. Taking place over two days at the Sky Lounge in Ottawa, this event provides an opportunity for business students to connect with their peers and celebrate international diversity. The event is part of the broader Sprott student community programming designed to build personal and professional networks.
Why it’s worth going
This event offers finance and accounting students a chance to expand their professional network beyond the classroom in a relaxed social setting. International business perspectives are increasingly important in finance and accounting careers, and SIBA events provide exposure to diverse viewpoints and potential collaborators. The multi-day format allows for deeper relationship-building with peers who may become future colleagues or business partners.
Going in prepared
Since this is a multi-day event at the Sky Lounge, plan your schedule to attend both days if possible to maximize networking opportunities. Come prepared with a brief introduction about your background and program of study, as you’ll likely meet many new people. Dress in business casual attire unless otherwise specified, and consider bringing business cards if you have them to make it easier for new connections to stay in touch.
