Not every useful business event in Ottawa is a suit-and-handshake night. On Saturday, August 15, Brunch and Create is running a four-hour session at a Bank Street photo studio that mixes a Canva workshop, an expert panel, brunch and a content studio you can actually film in. The programming is delivered in French, and it is aimed at entrepreneurs, marketers and content creators.

What is on the schedule
The day is built around four blocks: a panel on marketing, content creation, artificial intelligence and monetising your own image; a hands-on Canva workshop covering the platform’s newer AI features; brunch and open networking; and studio time with guidance so you leave with photos or video of your own. A ticket covers the panel and workshop, the meal and drinks, a set of Canva templates, and studio access.
Who should think about going
At $65 this is not the cheapest thing on the Ottawa calendar, so it only makes sense if you have something to promote: a side business, a freelance service, a student club, or a personal brand you are trying to build before you graduate. If that describes you, the studio time is the part that is hard to replicate elsewhere at this price, and a decent set of headshots and short-form clips has a long shelf life. If you are simply looking to meet people, one of the free or lower-cost networking nights around town will stretch your money further. Note that the sessions run in French and there are no refunds, so be reasonably sure before you buy.
