Why it’s worth going

Finance and accounting students interested in entrepreneurship or working with small business clients will gain practical legal knowledge that intersects directly with business financial decisions. Understanding business structures, contracts, and risk management is essential for anyone pursuing a career in accounting or finance advisory roles, as these legal elements directly impact financial reporting, tax planning, and business valuation. The small group setting with only 25 attendees provides an opportunity to ask specific questions and make professional connections with established business leaders in Hamilton.

Going in prepared

Plan to arrive at 7:30 a.m. for the networking session with breakfast refreshments, which provides time to meet other attendees before the 8:00 a.m. presentation. Come prepared with questions about legal aspects of business that intersect with your finance or accounting interests, as there is a dedicated Q&A period at 8:45 a.m. Since this is a member-only event with limited capacity, ensure you are registered and notify the organizer immediately if you cannot attend so your spot can be given to someone else.
