Why it’s worth going
Finance and accounting interviews often include behavioral questions, case studies, and technical questions about financial statements or accounting principles. Practicing your responses out loud in a group setting helps you refine your answers and become more comfortable articulating your experience. The French-language format is particularly valuable for bilingual positions in Ottawa’s federal departments and francophone financial institutions.
Going in prepared
Review common interview questions beforehand and prepare at least one or two examples from your experience that demonstrate key competencies like teamwork or problem-solving. Bring a notebook to jot down feedback and tips you receive during simulations. Be ready to participate actively in practice exercises, as you’ll learn as much from giving feedback to peers as from receiving it.
