📍 215 Preston St, Ottawa, ON
🏢 Hosted by Sprott School of Business
The Sprott School of Business is hosting a Local Firm Meet & Greet at 215 Preston Street in Ottawa. This networking event provides an opportunity for students to connect directly with local firms in an informal setting. The event takes place in the evening to accommodate student schedules and runs for two hours.
Why it’s worth going
This event offers finance and accounting students a chance to meet with local Ottawa firms in person, potentially including accounting firms, financial services companies, and other local employers. The informal meet-and-greet format allows for genuine conversations and relationship-building that can lead to internship opportunities, mentorship, or future employment. Being held at a Preston Street venue rather than on campus suggests a more professional, industry-focused atmosphere.
Going in prepared
Arrive with printed copies of your resume and be ready to introduce yourself professionally with a clear elevator pitch about your program and career interests. Research local Ottawa accounting and finance firms beforehand so you can ask informed questions about their work and culture. Dress in business casual or business professional attire, as this is a formal networking opportunity with potential employers.
