Why it’s worth going
Finance and accounting students can gain exposure to the Ottawa startup ecosystem and hear real-world pitches from entrepreneurs building businesses, providing insight into how ventures are funded, scaled, and brought to market. The Q&A format offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute feedback and think critically about business models, financial viability, and growth strategies. Networking with entrepreneurs, mentors, and business professionals can lead to internship opportunities, project collaborations, or connections in the local business community.
Going in prepared
Plan to arrive when doors open at 6:00 p.m. to maximize networking time before the pitches begin at 6:30 p.m. RSVP on Meetup before attending so organizers can plan accordingly. Come prepared with thoughtful questions or suggestions for the entrepreneurs presenting, as the format specifically encourages attendee participation during the Q&A. Any time left over after presentations is dedicated to open conversation and networking, so bring business cards or contact information to share with other attendees.
